ARTIST: 100BLUMEN
TITLE: Floral Annihilation
LABEL: ANT-ZEN

DESCRIPTION: although the electronic sound assaults seems like a long way from this artist's punk rock roots, the inspiration from punk prophets like conflict, discharge and crass is still of great importance to 100blumen - that is a citizen of full age, the scrutinization of authorities, politics and beliefs. but he does not consider his music 'political'; however track titles and some samples can be used as thought provoking impulses - if the listener decides to. musically, 'floral annihilation' is a consolidated package of energetic, percussive pieces, interlaced with many facets of electronic sounds - repetitive, impulsive and suggestive. 100blumen focuses on a balance between hard danceable industrial noise (characterized by the artist's own description of 'polyrhythmic rock and roll') and lo-fi influenced less aggressive tunes. all this is combined with a 100blumen / loss collaboration ('pussywillow') and two remixes by p.a.l and heimstatt yipotash. this cd is a truly fine follow up to 'in floriculture there is no law!' packaging: cd gatefold sleeve.

TITLE: In Floriculture There is No Law!
LABEL: ANT-ZEN

DESCRIPTION: 100blumen's roots are in guitar (punk, grindcore and metal). from the beginning his political stance was anti-fascist and he still characterizes himself as an anarchist. he discovered industrial music in 1997 after debuting as a vocalist in a punk band and a few years later he started experimenting with electronic equipment. in 2005 he founded the 'le petit machiniste' label and the project that became 100blumen... although the project's name was taken from the mao zedong quote, (which sounds harmless at first but culminated in terribly oppressed freedom of expression) 100blumen's musical aim is not necessarily political. in his own words, music is an articulation of emotions: 'not exactly the adequate means to express myself, but so far there is no better one available'. what you are about to hear is a sheer outburst of distorted noise, chopped sequences and hard driving beats. an edgy fusion of energy and aggression, rooted in the roughness of punk without any stylish teenage riot nostalgia. essentially the sound is the power of innocent machines forced to run amok. this is the continuation of what started with the no-fi industrial movement way back in the eighties. music that keeps you awake. music that forces you to think. music to make you move. let a hundred flowers bloom. feat. remixes by asche vs. morgenstern, twinkle and nin kuji!

TITLE: Dead.Ends.Sinful
LABEL: PUNCH RECORDS

DESCRIPTION: A visionary ritualist and psychedelic post-atomic voyage among the ruins of technology , an exploration journey-report in the frost of existential sand . Subliminal melodies and thorny distortions, spread over hammering cadenzas and iridescent drones, wave hypnotical within the out-of-time heart-rending and lashed outer limits of the desert . Futurist premonitions and turmoils of abstract noises, instrumental trances guided by galley rythms over a claustrophobic non-oxygen soundscape filtered by surrealist lyrics thrown-wards about a cathatonic void . Fresco-mosaic of a degenerated waste land, haze more than landscape...

ARTIST: 3/4HADBEENELIMINATED
TITLE: The Religious Experience
LABEL: SOLEILMOON RECORDINGS

DESCRIPTION: Soleilmoon Recordings is proud to announce the simultaneous release of 3/4HadBeenEliminated’s new CD and LP, titled “Theology” and “The Religious Experience”, respectively. 3/4HadBeenEliminated was founded in 2002 in Bologna, Italy as a trio, with Stefano Pilia, Claudio Rocchetti and Valerio Tricoli. An eponymous album was released in 2003 by Bowindo. In 2004 the group welcomed Tony Arrabito and became a quartet. The next year Hapna put out their second album “A Year of the Aural Gauge Operation”, and in 2006 the band self-released a 7 inch single “DimethylAtonalCalcine”. The group straddles the line between live improvisation and studio experimentation, blending and shaping raw sounds into living pieces, then gently dissecting the delicately structured songs into disruptive sonic excursions more evocative of moving shadows and swirling leaves than recognizable tunes. Stasis and stability are nowhere to be found here. Instead, an ever-changing dialogue between structure and chaos shifts from one performer to the next, never resting long before launching again into shuddering flight. Accoustic instruments and vocals form a familiar reference point, but studio treatments take the music into psychedelic and cinematic realms. In their words, “Improvisation is a way to experiment without thinking. When our improvisations ‘work’, the music just happens on its own. It reveals itself as if guided by its own logic, its own desire. In fact we don’t even feel like we are actually playing the music. It’s more like a stream that moves and changes autonomously. With composition (editing, overdubs, etc. etc.) we then remodel this stream, trying to make it more complex, ‘forever lasting, forever changing’, in the sense that every hearing will reveal a new perspective of the music. As a live band, we improvise 100%, and it's really risky, but when it ‘happens’, it’s the greatest satisfaction.” “The Religious Experience” is a riotously colored vinyl LP, presented in a deluxe hand-made sugarcane fiber cover, with a delicately perfumed inner sleeve and silkscreened insert, and is limited to 225 copies. The companion CD “Theology” contains the source recordings used for the LP, and is limited to 450 copies. The two albums – and their music – should be considered as mirror opposites. Where theology is a completely artificial system of belief, a religious experience is the immediate experience of the thing itself. Likewise, the music on “Theology” is complex and elaborate, while “The Religious Experience” is much simpler, going directly to the heart of the material comprising “Theology”. Thus, the two works are independent, yet relate to each other as mother and daughter.140192030677

ARTIST: 5F_55
TITLE: I
LABEL: HANDS PRODUCTIONS

DESCRIPTION: 5F_55 is a one man newcomer from Germany, presenting his first album on the high profile Hands label. As usual for Hands, this album comes packaged in a slick recycled cardboard digipack, this time shiny silver, and bearing a 5F_55 hologram, as well as some very nice "children" graphics. 13 tracks are present on this disc, for a bit more than one hour. Rhythm-wise (and this is the core element of 5F_55), the CD ranges from straightforward, percussive industrial (4th and 5th track) to drum'n'bass, with more drums than bass (10th track). Then, you find all kind of shades in between. The tempo is never quite fast, but never quite slow either, and stays always in this danceable-but-not-gabber area that gets everybody on the dancefloor, even people who wouldn't dance to very aggressive stuff.
